The Columbia University Alumni Club of Northern California is invited to attend an art exhibition at Crown Point Press. The exhibition,
A Photograph as an Etching will feature the color photogravures of Susan Middleton. Middleton is a photographer specializing in portraits of animals and plants, and has been photographing rare and endangered species since 1986. In pursuing her work, Middleton has traveled across the United States and has lived for extended periods in Africa and Hawaii. She will be available at 5.45 PM to meet and briefly speak to the Alumni Club about her work, followed by a short guided-tour of the etching studios. Hors d'oeuvres and beverages will be served by TWO Restaurant. Following the exhibition, please join the group for dinner @ 7:30 PM (no-host, pay for yourself) at TWO, located downstairs from the gallery on Hawthorne Lane.
Crown Point Press is a world-renowned etching studio, gallery, and fine art bookstore located in the South of Market neighborhood of San Francisco. Founded in 1962, Crown Point celebrated its 25th birthday with an exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art, New York City and it's 35th with exhibitions at the National Gallery, Washington DC and the California Palace of the Legion of Honor, San Francisco.
